Foxconn A74ML-K wont post but fans spin.

Got this off ebay for £1, came with a heatsink and amd sempron 140.

    http://www.foxconnchannel.com/Produc...U=en-us0000467

She said it worked fine one day and not the next.

When i got it the cpu pins were bent, I have bent them back and tried the cpu in my motherboard and it works fine, i have also tried my x6000 cpu in the foxconn but it still wont boot up.

    I get no beeps.

The cmos battery was dead, and it doesnt charge up when left in the socket.

Tried a known good cmos battery and known good psu but still the same.

It is an amd chipset board.

    All caps "look" ok.

Any ideas before I stick it in the oven?

Cpu, south and north bridge get warm when on, so they are receiving power.

Do NOT touch heatsinks when testing for voltages as they may be LIVE!

What brand caps? A lot of them go bad without bulging up.

Scrap it mate, accidently shorted the mobo and now it wont spin at all, just a quick twitch of the fan then nothing. Its going in the bin.

      Thanks anyway DJ.

Mostly? If there are any good brand caps, then get them off it before you dump it. Next time you need them, you won't have to buy them

Have you tried with a good battery and also cleared cmos by jumper (or connecting solder dots with screwdriver) ?
