Ok I have marked a number of things on the board that may help.

1 The yellow ringed joints "look" a bit odd (it may just be the light or the picture - they often lie) Can you check with a magnifier and if they look bad to you resolder them.
Recommend adding a bit of new solder removing it all and resoldering.

2 I have marked in magenta? a fuse Can you test it.
There may be more but my eyes are tired.

3 S1 -4 are I think the secondary windings on the Inverter transformer. Power OFF - meter on ohms 2000 - test S1>S2 and S3>S4 and post the results.

      1) that was one of the first things that I resoldered (everything that you circled in yellow). You're right - photos lie.

      2) F102 is good.

      3) S1 --> S2 = .748, S3 --> S4 = .746. So, that means 748 Ohms and 746 Ohms, respectively.

        Oh, F200 is good, also.

OK, your problem is almost certainly in the inverter section. The inverter transformer looks good because the 748 ohms and 746 ohms are within 3% of each other. I think I remember this board from one I fixed awhile back. Turned out to be one of the inverter IC's. I replaced them both at that point. You need to check those. They do look very well used, and possibly used up. Circled in red. Good luck.

*EDIT* Hold your horses. Reading back at the beginning of the thread it appears that OZ9910GN was the culprit. I'd start from the beginning of the thread and run those same tests.

I think it may be time to use two test lamps to verify the inverter board function.

I thought that I'd posted that I'd replaced both of those Mosfets, but I don't recall off the top of my head. Anyway, they were definitely bad. Once I replaced them, it fired right up. Then, died again shortly thereafter.

If I unplug one or another of the CCFLs it fires up, albeit briefly.

I'll go over the thread again to see if I notice anything.

Eventhough you replaced the mosfets, do a quick to verify they're still good.

If I've done this correctly (verified high resistance (VERY high resistance)) then they're still okay.

I think I have an otherwise bad panel that I can take these from.

We want to use the test lamp that way we do not wasting time troubleshooting board just to find out it is the lamp problem, not the board. I do this all the time to save times.

Sounds like a good idea. But, the CCFLs that I just pulled for this - the ends are black. Inside, not outside. That means that they're bad, right? This was from a 15" monitor that I decided to not troubleshoot, but turned it into a digital projector, instead.

They are probably bad but you wont know until you try them?
Why not make up some of budms cfl test lamps.

Agreed! I need to make up a CCFL bulb tester, too. There's one I've seen floating around the 'net for like $15 that does bulbs up to 40", IIRC, but if I could make one out of scraps, instead...

                              Found the link! https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=19987

I don't think that I have any "bad" CCFL at the moment, but using one out of the box isn't cost prohibitive, in VT they're generally only a buck.

I have been struggling with my monitor for the past 3 days (This is my first monitor that i have tried to fix myself, so i unfortunately i do not understand half of what you guys are saying) it is a Acer AL1916 that does exactly what was mentioned in the quote above i have replaced most of the capacitors (Except for 1 because i got the wrong kit on the site i found them on, a 220 uf 25v) and i cannot find anything wrong with the rest of the board, like blown fuses or anything else for that matter, but i may be too inexperienced to tell though (I hate not knowing what I'm doing)

(I would provide pictures but i cannot find the camera)

                                Thanks in advance.

the only picture i can show you is one on the site that i found the capacitors on: http://lcdalternatives.com/Acer-AL19...-P2319320.aspx (Not meant as advertisement but only as the only thing that shows the same board i have)

PS.Ignore my name, I'm horrible at coming up with names and that was the first thing that popped in my head.

You have 2 seconds to black read the sticky guide at the front of this forum
What is the number on big black rectangular component ( Inverter transformer.)
                                  Do you have a multimeter

The backlight wont come on at all but it does have the flash (from the quote in my first post) and after a couple seconds the power light turns orange until i turn it off then back on and then it does the same thing again.

And if You're talking about the board in the picture the number is: 2874005300 m 0715.

Im sure we have one somewhere, just gotta go find it. (recently moved here so some stuff is lost)

Ok you may have other problems as well but you still need to read that guide
Until you find a meter there is nothing else to do. Scroll up to the top of the page and click on Troubleshooting computer displays.

When you find it read my post 41 and do those tests.

I have repaired one pcb like this by replacing both AOP605 mosfets and recapping 2 or three capacitors. Thank you guys for the post.
