    short to ground CPU Vcore rail Acer vn7-591g

    Hello i need some help - acer vn7-591g i7-4710hq/ gtx960

    First the short was start from the second mosfet at DC-in, then i manage to isolate the short on small part of the MB, i will atach a pictures with the short, any suggestion how to identife where is it without desoldering all cap's.

    NOTE: Now the laptop starts if i cut the power to cpu.

    Measure resistance between DCBATOUT and 1V_CPU_CORE.
    Measure resistance between 1V_CPU_CORE and ground.

        If it's 0 and not 10 to 70 ohms (or so) then indeed something is shorted. You can inject 1V and check what heats up (do not go above 1.8V to not damage the CPU). Maybe PU4702/PU4703 or a capacitor.
