    help identify this component

it looks like a couple of capacitors(?) I have on the board have burst and I was wondering if you could help me identify them so I can replace them. I've attached a picture which contains both of the blown components; one is almost directly in the middle of the picture and the other is up about an inch or two from the one in the center at approximately 10 o'clock. They both have "S533" printed on them but nothing else.

Any help you can provide would be much appreciated.

Look like rubycons of some sort, or counterfeits.

        Check power supply caps.

          Hi,

I think they may be 16v caps because of their size and close vicinity to an EMI choke. If it's a motherboard, if so what socket?

Can you find any writing on the board to help us ID it, take a few more near and far pics also.

It appears to me that those are not capacitors, but Crystal Oscillators.
Here is a picture of the type on your motherboard.

I'm no expert on them, but as far as I know, they can't burst, as a capacitor would. Maybe that's some sort of glue? The 'S533' somehow indicates the resonant frequency.

Look at the label for them on the motherboard, I believe the letter for crystals is 'X'

              That should be glue.

Didn't find THAT one, just an example.

                And I agree with NxB.
They aren't burst, that's just glue.

still looks like the cap above the eprom socket is bulging.

Didn't know you meant the crystals (it's glue); thought it was the swelling cap too.

                      Anyone remember the Tamiya TA02?
