    Klipsch R-110SW sub no sound

I have picked up this sub in great condition, for $40.
Initially, it was dead. Found the fuse blown. After I have replaced it, it turned on(LED turned green), but did not make any sound.
Eventually I have found very high resistance on the speaker, which was changing it's value.
I have found the tinsel wires were causing this issue. At least that what I think at the moment. I still need to replace these wires, to be sure.
Also I started on the amp, which works, but has a buzzing hum.
Unfortunately, my esr meter is broken, so I can't measure capacitors.
I have removed a bunch of that caulking. In some spots it was darker, which most likely it started to be conductive.
My question is, which capacitor could be causing this sound?
Course, there is no schematic for these.
Voltage at the amp is +/-44.9V.

The only thing that I have to measure esr, is one of those couple dollar multi component identifier. It was a kit, that I have put together.
With this, I'm measuring 1.5 Ohm esr on the two big caps. I believe that it is to high(1000uF/63V).

Depends on what type of caps they are, for general purpose caps it would be quite normal...

I have replaced the test leads, with much shorter ones and they show 0.01 Ohm.

OK, just to update this thread, what happened with this sub.
Amp is all good, nothing wrong with it.
The only thing that failed, it was one of the tinsel wires on the speaker itself.
I have purchased new ones(I went a bit overboard with the wire), replaced them and now it's working again.
I had to cut out some metal from the basket, because it was only 1-3/4" gap to work with. I couldn't even reach in there, with the Hakko FX888D, I had to use a Weller WESD51, which is slightly longer.
There are quite a few of these out there, with no sound issue. I'm wondering, if all of them have the same issue, or not?

Here are some pictures, with the original speaker.
2017 speaker and already has failed the tinsel wire!
I also include a picture with the sub as well(picture from the net), for reference.

Good to hear you got it working and that the tinsel leads on the speakers was all that was wrong.

However, it may still not be a bad idea to replace the output capacitors on the PSU board, if they are from a known problematic brand (CapXon anyone? ) or unknown phony/cheap brand.

That woofer driver looks pretty decent, BTW - double-stacked magnets and thick cone surround? Not bad at all!

This is a new model, they are still on sale, $549.
The speaker's manufactured date is 09/2017(!).
Hard to believe, that capacitors would be bad.
I have just got the big brother of this(R115SW), from Frys for my birthday(today), for $459 with tax(!).That is a $899 sub. Email coupon code + 20% discount given at the entrance of the store.

                  I agree.
But if this really is such an expensive sub and uses cheap/crap caps, then spending a few more $$ to make sure they never become a problem might be worth considering. Just my 2 cents worth anyways.

So in the beginning you have bad speaker but you were able to hear the buzzing sound? A little confusing.

                      With a test speaker.
I was actually surprised, that after hooking up the original speaker, I did not get the buzzing sound anymore. Weird, but I'm happy that is gone.
