Well thanks very much for the responses. So glad there is a website like this that is clearly used to frequently. I've not done TVs for a while but I decided to get back into it and bought four units the other day, so I'm sure I'll be on here a fair bit.

Anyway, I think I'll order some thermal gap pads and paste and put this LG down for a while. The tab bonds are reading 56C after about two minutes of use.

Anyway, Now to have a look at a Samsung UE55....

Ten minutes in and were looking good. Previously it wouldn't make it past 10 seconds, so it's already looking like the right type of fix. I only used about 10mm X 15mm cut offs, underneath and over the top of each of the three left hand side bonds.
