    Motherboard wont post

Hi, i have a 775 mobo and i cut the plastic corners to put a 771 cpu, thats why i fucked this thing up everything was fine unitl one day i was freaking distracted and missplaced the cpu into the socket (incorrect position), now the mobo would power on, lights up & fans on, but wont post, debug codes indicates harware error, so any idea if i can fix it? Would really appreciated any comment to help!

-Motherboard : EVGA nForce 790i SLI FTW
-Tried different cpu (775) same problem
-Dont have other mobo to test the 771 cpu to see if it´s burned or something
-Did try clear CMOS and take out the bat with no result

    Hi,

Just check that your 5v is still good, first thing post looks for. Maybe something blown or pulling it down. ie Short circuit.

when you misplaced the cpu, you try to turn on? or you find out the error before? check all the pins on the cpu socket they are really easy to bend
