Emachine VG33 board

Just got one of the VG33 Socket 478 P4 boards, not sure which model Emachine it was from.

Apparently the original Bestec PSU killed it... The south bridge gets really hot as soon as I plug in the ac cord.

Ironically, it has all Sanyo and Rubycon caps. Would it be worth it to salvage parts from the board, such as VRM parts and caps?

Yes, I do that too. The caps are OK. MOSFETs and VRM controller probably too.
