Hi guys
I've spent too many hours the last couple of days looking at IR BGA rework stations
The original one I found was the ACHI IR PRO SC and watched a youtube video of some guy doing exactly the same work I want to do, and it was good.
Problem is now I start to look around I am finding too many alternatives that appear to be similar features and price range. And I am struggling to find user reviews of these machines
On this possibles list right now is
ACHI IR Pro SC
Scotle IR Pro SC
Scotle IR6000 (cheaper than the others)
and a variety of other similar ones on aliexpress in the sub 1000 euro price range
Then there is this Bauer Omega XD that I am just researching now to see if it really would be worth twice the money - i.e. if I could get a better return on my investment if I spent that sort of money, because to do that I would have to be able to justify the expense.
Please can someone advise me, are all these 'much of a muchness' when it comes to performance? Is there a machine that stands out from the crowd in 2019 that I should be considering instead?
Selecting the Quick 861DW for hot air was an easy decision based on knowledge gleaned from the net. This seems much more difficult.
BTW I also asked this on eevblog (sorry to folks who read both forums) and got some good advice on general IR BGA station use but noting to say which one I should buy and why.
