    Emerson TV Problem Please Help

I got a free tv today!!! Only problem is....its broken It had a lot of vertical lines going up and down the screen. I did some research and found Jscreenfix. It eliminated a lot of the lines but the darker lines are still there e.g. blue, black, dark green. Her are some pics

It looks like tab bonding on the right side of the LCD panel are bad.

      What is a tab bonding?

It means the panel is junk. The bonded ribbon cable coming from the glass panel has come loose from the neighboring PCB.

The panel is the LCD itself; it makes up the majority of the cost of the TV.

It is comprised of glass and thin film transistors, among other components.

When the tab bonds fail the signals going to the thin film transistors get lost and you get black lines.

I do not know how a "JScreenfix" program could even attempt to fix this. No amount of flashing pixels will get the pixels back, especially if they are missing the signal in the first place. Seems like a bit of nonsense to me!

This may or may not work but take your hand and tap kind of hard but not too hard on the plastic (bezel) Case on the top side and bottom on the front side of the TV where the lines are located, sometimes this will make the tab bonds re-connect but it may not last. there is a video on youtube that shows a method of disassembling by removing the front plastic bezel, and then the metal frame around the LCD Panel and using foam tape on each side of the ribbon cables, when applied it will add pressure to the tabs to make them re-connect, but no guarantees it will last. here's the link to the video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=purk_SyiT44

Is it mainly just one tab bond that's bad? I think it has to have just the right amount of pressure when the plastic bezel is put back in place to hold it.

Looks similar to what my Acer TravelMate 4200 laptop screen does.

(Which with mine, appears to be bad connector contact and I can make all vertical lines go away by flexing it a certain way.)
