    LVDS Cable removal

How does this cable release? I pulled on the white piece a little but didn't want to break it. Thanks

It might be the type that flips up, try flip up the white piece with thumb nail if it is it will flip up pretty easy.

DO NOT pry it up, You push the white part down to release the cable, press it towards the t-con board,

I thought he meant the lvds cable, per the title, need to clarify which cable you are trying to remove if the smaller all white one then yes press down while gently pulling off.

Thats what I am talking about The LVDS Cable is releaesed by pressing the white plastic down towards the board, then pull the lvds cable out of the connector

Ok, down not up, most important is to do it very lightly as to not break anything while figuring out how they come off.

The wider connector is the one I am talking about with the ribbon cable.

Well the brown part doesn't move, the white piece does push in some but very little.

That is correct, the brown part is the stationary part of the connector, the white part is the release, Its a thin connector, how far do you expect it to move?

But looks like it worked and you were able to remove the lvds cable withoutdamage.

Is it a Sony by any chance ? That's where you tend to see these the most. I got stumped a lot too, until my colleague broke one and we realised, like others have said, you're supposed to push down ("into" the board) the white U shape part and pull on the ribbon gently and it should come out. To reinsert it, simply push it in and it should lock itself in place. Cheers.
