Samsung DMD series PSU BN44-00736A BADCAPS

Thought would share this with you its worst condition psu i have seen, ok not seen many PSU prob compared to some but this display is only 4 years old being a commercial one it meant to be on 24/7.

Picked up cheap this large 1080p Samsung DMD series 55" led lcd with screen just flashing on and off it was trying to start. Opened up to find two large caps on PSU have bulged with one of em popped oozing blackness out of it but the worst bit is the transformer and the pcb around it totally black and charred with the SMD resistor matrix under the transformer on other side of PCB totally crisp to the touch and flaking off. This is so bad the PCB is like a burnt bit of toast could put finger through it easily held up to the light you can see the cracks clean through see photos. PSU is a BN44-00736A

Should we be reporting this to Samsung?

Re: Samsung DMD series PSU BN44-00736A BADCAPS

So Samsung uses SAMWHA BL series not low ESR type.
I have seen lots of failed SAMWHA caps in Samsung products, but if it lasts 4 years and warranty already runs out then it is fine with Samsung.
