    Component Identification

    Hello guys,
Recently a friend of mine had an issue with his air conditioning unit and he brought me this board to see if I can make it work again. The board had a nasty encounter with water while it was powered up and as you can imagine, some things shorted out.
After the initial checkup, besides other things, I have found what it looks like an LC circuit but it seems like the inductor is encased in glass. I'm not sure if that is an inductor or not, I've tested it with a multimeter and doesn't show any readings.
So, my question is: What is that thing, is it normal not to show any readings, and if it's bad what replacement should I get ?

    Thanks alot.

That is Surge Arrestor/suppressor (SA, Gas discharge type), it should show open circuit. It is not need for the circuit to function.
BTW, did you remove that Common mode choke?
What Voltage testing have you done so far?

Yeah I temporary removed it and that relay on the left side to make a clearing so I can work in peace.
Haven't managed to do any voltage readings yet, the board was too damaged.
I have to replace a coupe of SMD optocouplers PC1 and PC2 in the first picture next to the 3 diodes as they had 2 legs coroded clean off, also a couple of 470k and 68k burned out smd resistors, and redo a big circuit trace and check on many others especially under large components.
