Another sad Samsung, mates girlfriends telly

My mate asked me if i could have a peep at his birds telly
Its a samsung PS42C450 plasma jobby.

Telly comes on fine, only prob is a horizontal row (looks like 1 pixel) wide missing/black.

I think a replacement YB board may sort this out??? at least thats what i think the board in question is.
Its got a ref model:42u2p-yb rev 1.3 pcb no lj41-08594a pba lj92-01739a

I might be barking up the wrong tree here, but its the board with 6 ribbon/flat cables at side that seem to supply the panel with its video.
If I unplug the ribbon cable that lines up with my dead row, unsurprisingly I get a wider band of no video.
Thats why I am guessing/assuming this is my culprit.
Fault is on permenantly, not tappable, doesnt respond to heat. have no freeze it at mo, but wouldnt expect it to respond to freeze spray as set shows symptom from cold.
Any help would be good.

No mate, if one line on the Ic was short/open set wouldn't run. Ive had the 50" C450 on a couple of times fail in the same way not fixable.

Cheers Reece. Have you ever tried to repair a damaged ribbon ? I was thinking of trying some conductive epoxy and fine magnet wire to bridge a tiny tear.
Then some transformer varnish to seal it. What do you recon ?

I had luck with repairing a damaged ribbon cable on a Panasonic plasma. It was 1 of the outer lines that got broken. With flux ,tin , very tiny tip and alot of luck i managed to bridge them back together. Its still working. But as Reecey says ...chip is not repairable.

I had some luck using a dentist scope and very fine wire repairing a damaged pdp ribbon on a q96 or 97 hd but it was fucking impossible. But these break off right at the panel bud just poor shitty bonding from samsung to the PDP.

Cheers Moreno83 and Reeece, that gives me hope. I have a microscope and various thicknesses of magnet wire, I just need to clear some space.
