well... that is bad then. there shouldn't be multiple wires shorted together. you should have one input and output per wire. take it off and see if the short goes away.
Unfortunately there is still nothing else to start, now the voltage on the 12v when I turn on the power supply is much lower, about 1.50 volts and then drops to 0.3 what should I check again?
so what dd you do? You removed that short on that 5V rail, you put the inductor back on and nothing works? So what was causing that short on the 5V rail then?
This doesn't make any sense, why the PSU isn't turning on anymore. just put the old resistor back in there and see if it starts again to proof something
the resistor that created the short had the colors brown black green gold i.e. 1mohm but it marked me 50 ohm the one that I replaced me from perfect 1mohm
