    7c9l17-18l regulator?

    what is this component? i searched the web and can not find its description.
    its on the logic/main board for a viewsonic 2030wm monitor that goes off at high resolution.
    please help

    Can you post a picture of this component and the board it is on?

    I found a schematic for a VG2030m that may help if it is close to the model you have.

        its on the main/logic board( thats what i call it)its probably a different name.
        but here are some pictures of it ,bud suggested a 1.8 v regulator.
        i do appreciate both of your's efforts.

            I located and attached the service manual for a ViewSonic VG2030wm monitor.

            The main board has a 1.8 volt LDO regulator which is labeled I102. Is that the component you are looking for? It is located on page 43 of the attached PDF file.

            The schematic labels I102 as AP1117CY_1.8 and I did find voltage regulators by searching "1117CY".

            Edit: The bill of materials list I102 as an AIC1117A-18PY.

              thank you t30m31,
              not wonder i couldnt find it !!
              that 7c9l17 number its what's printed on the component.
              and its totally different from ap1117cy.
              is this what a lot of you guys call the 1117 series?
              i am going to go over the squematic and try to find what and how was this ckt affected by the caps.
              thanks for your help and effort,its well appreciated.

                Yes, 1117 series. See post 6 for calculator and 7, 8 if you need them from Digikey.

                  thank you bud,good info ,i finally know what LDO means.
                  low drop output right? please correct me if i am wrong ,it says low dropout on the data sheets,so i ASSume they just kind of simplify it .
                  another dumb question:am i suppost to delete the posts of the items i fixed and if yes how do i do it?

                    hey bud,
                    take a look at the service manual t30m31 sent me .
                    i think it has some more info then the one we got before,you tell me,but all info its welcome.
                    who knows you may have a use for it someday.
                    i guess viewsonic has a few different mods on the 2030 model,i dont know.

                      That is the same one I have. I have service manuals for 2 VG2030WM-1, VG2030M-1.

                        i forgot where i got mine ,but its missing some info that this one has,i think i got it from viewsonic ,but they must to have sent me a different revision or something.
