    Gigabyte GA-B75-D3V schematic needed

    Gigabyte GA-B75-D3V desktop motherboard. I've found schematic in vietnamese forums but all ask payment for download. BTW, why all laptop and motherboard repair forums are in Vietnam?

    I found audio CODEC shorted (Realtek ALC887), but after removing it there's another short in 3.3V line. Need schematic to go on.

        Merci, Piernov.

        I’m gonna dismiss this repair because I don’t know how it died. It could be due to lightning surge, and that’s a hell to repair. I though that audio CODEC was the only bad part, but since there’s more, it’s better to give up. Thanks again.

        LAN controller doesn’t look bad. At least it doesn’t burn immediately as it did the ALC887.

          Lightning usually takes out the Ethernet controller and the 3.3V line gets shorted, due to the voltage travelling through the Ethernet cable. I've seen a lot of board revived only by taking out the Ethernet controller (and replacing it if Ethernet is needed). Can also kill the Ethernet transformer/filters and the Ethernet ESD protection diode, but those will only prevent a cable from being detected rather than preventing the board to turn on completely.
          In some rare cases the ICH/PCH may die.

          Your best bet may be to inject some voltage in the shorted line and find which component gets hot. Check the PCH first, if it's heating up when injecting voltage on the 3.3V line, it's dead. (it should only heat up with voltage on it's VCore power rail, 1 volt or so after a buck regulator)

            Thanks Piernov.

            Before my previous message I already tried the 3.3V injection from my bench PSU. The only one that got anomalously hot was DVI level shifter IC (ASM1442). I removed it but still no fun. That’s when I gave up.
