    Acer X193 Goes Black

One day it worked fine, next day the screen went black 20-30 seconds after turning it on. The monitor light stays blue, but no picture. If turned off for a while, the same process repeats itself. The less time between shutting it off and turning it on results in less time before going black. So my guess is that it's heat related. The pictures of the area around U501 and U502 seem to indicate over heating in that area, which can also be seen on the other side of the board.
The U501 and U502 have the following information on them :
    NIKOS
    P2504 BDG
    Qn19K0204

It come up as an IC chip and I couldn't find out how to test them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like the backlights turn off, while everything else keeps running.
With everything disconnected, check the resistance on the output winding of each backlight transformer and compare them to each other. If the difference is more than 3%, that's your trouble. Check the whole PSU (specifically the backlight circuit) for cold solder joints. Other than that, heat (hair dryer) and cold (can of air upside down) are your friends. Try to localize the problem.
