Default lenovo yoga 2 13 Check this Out?

Hello to all.


Unit Model: Lenovo Yoga2 13
Mobo P/N: ZIVYO LA-A921P REV:2.0 2014-03-03


Status: No Power w/ Voltage on Adapter Drop

Action: First i dismantle the Laptop and Check the Mobo (Mother Board). Then i saw one capacitor Burn.

Here is the Picture

you see the red circle?
identified it is a Capacitor,burn but I do not know its location part number...

Action : 2nd I Remove this Capacitor then i checking and test using ohmmeter for resistance. Positive 0 Ohm (Shorted). Badcaps...

Action: I check the area where the capacitor is connected. may there be any broken parts?i check for short using Ohmmeter. i plug the adapter
result now the adapter is giving the correct voltage. but "No Power"

Now I Used the Science Discovery hehehe (Tuklas Agham in Filipino language) hehehe
Read the Schematic Diagram.

I tracing the rails of 20V Start On DC in to Fuse PF101 to PL101 Have 20.4V then to PQ301 Drain= have 20.4 using Digi tester but Source and Gate 0V
S= 0V?
G= 0V?
D = 20.4

Here is the Picture

Even The PQ303 Source, Gate and Drain. there no Voltage "0V"


I need your Advice For that

Other i Check the PQ301 and PQ303. i test - remove to PCB Negative for Shorted. both Mosfet are Good.
also i change Both Mosfet No Luck .Still Same as Problem

What are the Voltage PU301 1.4.5.6.20?

ACFET & RBFET (PQ301 and PQ303) can be turned on the System by ACDRV pin 4 it should be higher than Drain

Also should be checked PU301 pin 16 LDO REGN since acok signal tied with it.

Maybe if that can flow with super slow motion VCC (pin 20)>>>ACDET (pin6)>>>REGN (pin16)>>>ACOK (pin5)>>>ACDRV (pin4)

Make sure B+ not shorted.

But I curious About This Part Of PQ301 and PQ303.

In Actual Parts installed it is AON7430_PQ301 Same on PQ303.
On Schema Diagram is ISMDV1526URH_PQ301 same on PQ303.

anyway i think it is Same?


Also I update. i check and trace the the PQ304_AO4407A has been open the Source to Drain?

Action: Replace them same 4407A.

Here the result

* Used Analog Ohmmeter to X10. Leger on test Prove point (R) Red then (B) Black

PQ301 1st. Mosfet

S(R). D(B) = Open
D(R). S(B) = 5 Ohms
S(R). G(B) = Open
G(R). S(B) = 5.5 Ohms
D(R). G(B) = Open
G(R). D(B) = Open

PQ303 2nd. Mosfet Test and Reading Same on PQ301. I think the Both Mosfet haa been Ok.



IC

PU301
Pin 1 = 0V
Pin 2 = 0V
Pin 3 = 0V
Pin 4 = 0V
Pin 5 = 0V
Pin 6 = 2.7V
Pin 12 = 0V
Pin 16 = 0V
Pin 20 = 20.2V

Voltage is not correct
Pin 1 = 0V +19V
Pin 2 = 0V +19V
Pin 3 = 0V +19V
Pin 4 = 0V +24V or more
Pin 5 = 0V +3.3V
Pin 6 = 2.7V
Pin 16 = 0V +5V or 6V
Pin 20 = 20.2V

if you have no short in 1st 2 Fets then reflow the IC & see or change the BQ24715

About the PQ702 no burn and any physical Damages.
I also i Test Actual on Ohmmeter it is a Good and the PQ701 fine...

Maybe the last Suspected is the Power IC Hmmmmm.

BQ24715 (PU301)

Anyone have know the equivalent or compatible for this IC?

not recommended but you could try to bridge pq301 and pq303 so, that you can check if the BQ24715 is working or not.

but I'm a beginner don't take my suggestion as a good advice.

I already Try you opinion. before. B2B Pq303 Drain to Source... Upsssss

The Voltage Read. on output haveb Fluctuating 8v down the 12. to down....

never inject voltage after second mosfet or bridge this two mosfet before u check it with low voltage. if u have shorted highside mosfet u burn component/ICH, CPU/

of course you should never bridge mosfets that don't have 19-20v output - but this 2 should be 19-20v.

The voltage injected needs to be 1.5v or lower
