    component id fuse or not?

Hi everyone, attempting to bring this flash back to life from what appears to have been a drowning. This component appears to be a 5 amp ceramic fuse, but I am puzzled as to its location. It doesn't appear anything in this location has bus lines to the battery. Before I slap a new fuse in there and attempt to let out the magic smoke I thought it would be prudent to verify its really a fuse and not a ceramic cap.
It says 5.00 with a logo of C surrounding M followed by K.

    Looks like an crystal oscillator.
Even from what I see from traces on PCB,2 small capacitor to ground, parallel 1M resistor, and connected to two pins of some MCU.

      uPD78062 datasheet:

      Pins 79 and 80 are X1 and X2 -- crystal (main system clock, 5MHz).

The CM logo belongs to muRata:

that's a ceramic resonator in a MELF package.

the cobalt looking stuff is a sign of battery leakage from zinc/carbon battery's
you will probably find the slide-switch is screwed too.

Ok glad I asked, learn something new everyday. It had lots of corrosion inside the pictures are after extensive cleaning. Still got nothing out of it after cleaning, it might be a lost cause as I just bought a working one off fleabay for 26$. Ill still keep it around for parts if I cant get it going again. Thanks for your insights
