Flashing was no problem but it still tells me:

      "USER ID: BIOS Administrator
      Enter Password"

      I cant get in
      Try it https://bios-pw.org/

        U365: W25Q128 = 16MB
        U366: W25Q16 = 2MB

U365: Detected as "M25P20S" by the CH341A software.
I suspect its fried since i accidently put it in the wrong direction in the programmer...There was a green dot in the corner which i was thinking was the direction mark...
But its marked 25Q12...cant read it completely because of the green dot...

Now i need to scavenge a W25Q128 chip, i guess i just order one

On top of that when i cleaned of the flux from the board a microscopic smd resistor/diode just popped of the board... cold solder...
I managed to solder it back by using hot air but its so small that i cant even see if the solder is ok or not.

When it goes wrong it really goes wrong

Re: HP Elitebook 820 G1 - Still BIOS password after flash

Well i took a W25Q128 from another defect board i have.

So flashing both U365 and U366 was done using the files from "rioreno".

Now the computer wont even boot and i dont know if its the wrong programming to the chips or if i could not resolder the smd resistor/diode.
          (i guess its a 0402, really small)

Thank you all for the help i really wanted this to work.

Even bought a new screen for it since the old one was broken :/

To program this chip you use a clamp or desolder it and put them on programmer adaptor ? checks if all components ,around those chips, are in place.

Hi, I have Elitebook 820 G1 acting weird, it shuts off after few seconds, sometimes I managed to enter BIOS and reset it to defaults, but after restart again it turns off.
Thinking maybe it's BIOS problem, can anyone could help fix my BIOS dump.

Just wondering, how are you dumping and restoring the SPI? Mazzif over at MDL has a nice thread on these systems. Using a pi and flashrom one could obtain a dump, download a clean bios update and compare the two. Flashing only the VSS styles area will retain the mac address of the nic. Im actually going to be doing this later today.
