Hi guys i was given an Antenna PreAmp Winegard Ap4800 and it doesn't work, i opened it up and discovered a missing component on circuit antenna input input side it's either a resistor or a cap not sure can you experts guess what it is and what resistance or capacitance should i try?here 2 pic attach.

    I'd say a cap.

While you can solder a thruhole part across the pads (after cleaning them), that board is pretty grungy. You may even have to wash it to better inspect the traces. Check for open traces and printed inductors. These units were easily damaged by induced/capacitive coupling to lightning too.

For the test cap, something from 10-100n should be plenty.
