Hi!

My name is Roveer. I've been tinkering with electronics for more than 25 years but never really did much board level stuff. I don't have any formal electronics background, but I read a lot and have taught myself lots over the years.

I'm just smart enough to stay away from the stuff than can hurt me. I prefer low voltage stuff and I'm very leery of caps.

Fortunately for me my current dilemma is a resister so hopefully I'll be successful.

Thanks for listening.

Roveer

My name's Jeremiah myself, but I am one of a few people at an electronics recycler in Oklahoma City. We try and fix up what we can and send it to a new home on the cheap rather than shred everything. Sites like this make for a wonderful resource for us and we're planning on documenting and posting what we can when we find something that hasn't been tackled before.

We love taking things down and since most of our stuff comes in dead, we get to see crazy and fascination causes of failures. This also means we have a bonanza of spare parts to pull from as well as a lot of duplicates of devices to aid in troubleshooting.

I had a cat that I named 'radiozener'. I know that sounds stupid, but it seemed to fit him. My first computer was a TRS-80 back in 1977. That officially makes my body old, but my mind is still learning.

Hello,

My Name is Matt and I live in Northern VA, USA. I am a self taught learn and I am always trying not learn more and not restrict my self to pay some on else to fixing my toys.. lol I am not an appk fan but I Do have an almost complete set for apple notebook rework and smd solder as a side hobby getting extra money to fun more of my toys to be able to build my own design my own toys... I recently designed my own 3D printer and am currently programming it atm. I have not gone to to college.(cant afford it anyways) I may never but I believe to have a happy life is to do what you love and to do that you have to enjoy you job or work to never have job. I think I have something to offer but I do like problem solving and making my own things. I would like gain more knowledge and share my know to any other badcaps.net forum members and any other new member to come!

Thanks!

-Matt

P.S I apologies for my grammar and spelling is bad but that doesn't stop my knowledge gaining and sharing or how my brain processes. The way I see it, I was too busy taking apart my parents eletrontics, figure out how they work the puttingthe back together like nothing happens... besides when my mom or dad would walk in my room with screws on the flow all alike. Instead of worrying about what people where told to concentrate on that in life isn't some thing to important that I could easily teach myself late in life.

Hello Folks! New member here, but not new to electronics. However, I haven't had time in the last 5-10 years to dabble with a TV repair but I've found myself with a TV on my bench that I'm trying to revive. Looking forward to collaborating on this gem!! Cheers, Jim

Hi I'm new here, I have a T420 and I'm also getting a T420s to put coreboot on and debug (Probably going to use the T420 really.) I also have an R710 server and I came here looking for board schematics for the PSU and the mobo for the R710 I and II because I have the v1 board and I'm looking at getting a broken v2 board to try to repair to support my CPUs and possibly use one or the other for coreboot development although I hear it would take years /:
