![]() Hi all! I have a LG 42PC3d Plasma TV that has a green sparkly screen when it is first turned on. Over a 7 minute period, the picture slowly gets better until finally appears normal. Any suggestions as to what may be wrong or how to correct this would be greatly appreciated.

![]() Control-Board |Firmware needs updating to compensate for panel degradation.
What you are seeing is 'Mal-Discharge' or Green/Red spot syndrome, Very common on old LG like the V7, V8, X3 series.... Ive just done one today--The 42PX5D, much same 'X3' chassis.... Contact Capkid in USA--He has the specialised jig and the replacement firmware files--You'll have to send him your Control-Board for update.

![]() Yeah, this is a tricky one. The mal-discharge I haven't been able to correct in several cases has been less severe than what you're seeing (normally, just minute pixel sparkles that fade as the TV warms). I would guess that flashing will correct this severe a case of mal-discharge, but I can't say with 100% certainty.
