Leviton LTB60 Timer Switch Bad Cap – Part? Improvement? Suggestions?

I need a capacitor for my Leviton LTB60 Timer. The problem is replacing like for like (1 uF 350v) is just a temporary solution, and I'm hoping for a long(er) term solution. Ideally, someone specs out a brand, size etc (best if it was in the bad cap store) so I can replace the capacitor and any other simple modifications presented.

I think the (design) problem is best described in this guy's youtube video
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQM4ERy-wpY

My interpretation of his findings is that the capacitor fails because it's right next to a significant heat source. In the video at 7:29, he says “…they could have used a Ceramic Capacitor…”. Is that one possible solution?

If it makes any difference, I use the switch to control a bathroom fan (this switch is designed for fans, there's a different cheaper switch if you're just using it for lights).

    1. Would bending the capacitor and resistor away from each other help?
    2. Would slipping a piece of plumbers heat shield (Zoltek Pyron fibers) between the cap and resistor help? Hurt?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
