    Foxconn M61PMV Motherboard

I've got this in my server.
    It's got mostly Panasonic capacitors.
Is this one vulnerable to the nVidia chipset meltdown?

    Thanks...
And if it is, is the problem preventable with decent cooling?

Yes, it has the defective chipset. Replacing the tiny heatsink (my Compaq from 1998 has only a slightly smaller heatsink on its chipset) will make it last longer, but it will still fail.

Nobody has tried installing one of those tower chipset heatsinks that is almost big enough to cool the CPU (they are large enough that a 70mm or 80mm fan can be attached to them) yet, but those are overkill for a low-end chipset that is defective.

I always add 40mm fans to the heat sinks.
I love putting bad caps and flat batteries in fire and watching them explode!!

No wonder it doesn't work! You installed the jumper wires backwards

Any recommendations on a good small and silent fan?
