Help identify a resistor

Hi,
Recently i kind of busted my Proskit
MT-1210 digital multimeter by putting my probe on a hot ground instead of cold ground while measuring a diode on secondary power rail.
My issue is I am trying to test and replace any damaged resistor. There is one resistor on the left bottom part of the colour green,silver,white,white,black. Can anyone advise on what is the value and how do i test it on a dmm. Appreciate all the kind suggestions.

Which resistor R?? the colors you mentioned would be 0.99Ω 0.5% I see part of a resistor stuck to the greese on the bottom left of your picture.

I think the OP meant the one near D1 on the upper left, probably because the picture is now rotated CW by 90 degrees from the description?

Either way the it would be tough if it actually discolored due to heat. That picture has a lot of weird things in it...

Hi,
Identified the resistor as 0.99 ohm and tested it as working part. Eventually found out a damaged resistor at R27 (600ohm).
Now i can go ahead with the repair.
