HI, I got onkyo tx sr616 , it also have same issue no sound. i checked the firmware version its showings D??????????? and A????????????. is it dsp chip failure or its power supply? USB also not recognizing, i have doubt if its dsp failure sound should come pure direct mode right? i am not getting any sound in pure direct mode also
I'm trying to repair a 609, with no sound issue as well.
I have replaced the DSP, with a D version one and I still have at DSP Netthe ???????
It seems like communication, (or most likely lack of it) between ICs could also be the problem.
I have got a new nand flash, found a bin file firmware and flashed it, but there is still no change.
I don't have audio, USB and network. USB and network are grayed out.

TJMotter seems like he knows what is talking about.
I have never tested the rails.
I have just assumed, that it needs reheating the DSP with an airgun(bad solder job), or it is bad the DSP itself and needs the newer version. Which is, the D version. If you have version C or B, they can be the problem as well. They were recalled, by Texas Instruments.

Here in US, Onkyo will repair this issue for free.
Maybe, you should check with Onkyo, in India.
Mine it was repaired once, so it is not entitled for another free repair.
I'm also suspecting, firmware issue. Maybe, the firmware upgrade was stopped suddenly, without finishing the process, or installed wrong firmware.
