    HP Desktop 8000 Series mt USB Problem

    Hi All,

    I have HP Elite desktop 8000 series and i am facing problems with all
    USB PORTS.

    i have changed front usb cable but still the same problem.

    Does anyone knows anything about it.


    i also installed new windows in order to eliminate os problem
    and i have the same thing

    What's the problem with the front USB ports? No detection? No power? USB 1.1 mode only?

    If it's no power, check the poly fuses on the motherboard near the USB headers. Some mobos will also use MOSFETs to switch power to USB ports. If that's the case, check that those are getting power too. Last but not least, check the PSU. Bad caps on the 5V or 5VSB rail could still allow the PC to work, but make too much noise for USB devices to work.

      if worse comes to worse, you can get a USB card, some even have headers
