Where find example circuits with explanation?

Looking for a source of various circuits that are broken down to better help understand how components work together in different configurations.

    Any links would be appreciated

Need to know what kind of circuit example you are looking for since some of them can be really complicate.
You can also look at IC application circuit.

I think the Navy (?) had some courseware on-line to give you The Basics.

But, that will actually TEACH you something. If all you want is "tell me what component to replace", it's way too detailed!

AH, I would first watch/read a good basic components video or guide. I highly recommend this video from Big Clive:
            https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Maq5IyHSuc

If you wanted a nice, basic, and fun book to learn from you can't really go wrong with "Getting started in electrons" written by "Forest Mims". It can seem overly basic at times maybe, but it covers a lot of really fun/easier to make projects using discreet components. It's also written to be accessible by a wide range of ages, so the explanations are good.

From there, I would search for information on the following Power subjects:

            -Linear Voltage Regulators
            -- Afrotechmods video (Basics) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSzVs7_aW-Y
            -- Afrotechmods video (Adjustable): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IjJWWGPjc-w
            -Buck Regulator
            -- Afro Techmods video : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CEhBN5_fO5o
            -- Great Scott! video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8rK9gU30v4
            -Boost Converter
            -- Afrotechmods video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJU7AJgERG8
-- Great Scott! video on making a Juel theif! A type of Boost converter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJU7AJgERG8

This will give you a good idea of how to Handle power. After that, it's kind of what ever you want to learn about. Youtube is a great place search for videos on how to do things. With electronics. It can take a little time to figure out what to search, but after getting a basic idea of what you are trying to achieve you should be able to google how to do stuff.

            Have fun learning!

Thanks everyone. Great links. I already know the basics I was more looking for sample circuit schematics to see how different components work together in various configurations. For example light dimmers, timers, transistors as switches etc.

http://falstad.com/circuit/ here you will find lot's of basic examples of how different components work. The best thing is that one can edit the circuit and see how that changes affect the whole picture.

May be you can find the circuit that you do not understand how it works then we can go on from there., I.E . Dimmer, Timer, etc.
