    Samsung BN44-00445A power supply issue

    I have a Samsung BN44-00445A power supply which needs a few components. I have however one thermister component which literally fell apart in my hands and I'm unable to know its value. The reference position on the board is NT801S. Would anyone have a schematic or perhaps know the value of this component?

    please circle the part on the SMPS. Whatever u do - don't use calvinwarehouse on EBAY for board repair. total ripoff and incompetent.

      Ok, here is pic with location circled. I have verified shorted mosfets in the power staging section but this damaged surge thermister crumbled from heat and I'm unable to determine its value for replacement. I have seen on a samsung model BN44-00445C that this thermister is an NTC 10D 11. My power supply is a BN44-00445A. Any help is greatly appreciated.

        I think any -ve temp coefficient thermistor will work from any similar PSU.

          That NTC blew up can be due to shorted load or the bypass relay is bad and not bypassing the NTC when the TV is turned on.
          There are two power relays on your board.

            This samsung BN44-00445A power supply's thermister position has NT801S printed on the board. I hoped someone might have a schematic to verify its value as I'm not certain of which to put in. If the NTC-10D-7 will work I'll order it today Bud. I've ordered a rebuild kit but the thermister is not included in it. The owner initially blew a fuse in the ps then replaced the fuse, plugged it back in then the thermister fried.

              At this you must test all the devices attached to the heatsinks for shorts circuit first. That NTC is blown up for reason.

                Thanks Bud, I did and found 2 shorted transistors on the heatsink in the power staging section. The rebuild kit I ordered comes with these but not the thermister.

                  Since you ordered a rebuild kit, maybe the seller will have a schematic or a board lying around and can tell you the part number for NT801S

                      You should also check the relay that bypasses the NTC when the TV is turned by measuring the VACdrops between the two legs of the NTC when the TV is turned on.

                          Thanks Andrew, I may give that a try and just monitor how hot it gets for awhile. Cheers

                            Hello again, I have been able to determine the thermistor is a WMEC 10D100 or 20D100. Putting together the crumbled pieces I could make out part of the numbers so I checked the WMEC data sheet and there where only 2 possible solutions. It had to be either 10D100 or 20D100. Could anyone please advise which might be correct for this power supply? A supplier would also be appreciated.

                              10D = 10mm Dia.
                              20D = 20mm Dia.
                              Can you estimate the size?
                              They typically use 10mm, 20mm will be very big.

                                Thank you for your kind response. It would be 20mm then based on what its size is. Sometimes it's a real bear trying to identify a damaged part with no schematic.

                                  The WMEC 20D100 thermistor seems hard to find in small quantities. I did find a NTC SCK20100 on eBay which I believe would be equivalent. Checking values it seems close. Would it be fair to assume so? https://www.ebay.ca/itm/152940849564...MakeTrack=true

                                    'SCK20100' That will be 20mm dia. 10 Ohms at 25c.
