    MCP73-T-M bad caps

    Hi,

I was upgrading harddrives and noticed one bad capacitor 6.3V 1800uF next to 24 pin power connector on motherboard. Other 16 V Sanyo capacitors looks fine.
The motherboard is working fine, do I need to replace this capacitor and what is the purpose of this capacitor?

    please review the attached image

    replace the cap.

since you have an invidia chipset mobo, as a preventive measure out a small fan on the chipset heatsink.
