Ok budm, thanks for that. I have place these components on order, as soon as they arrive I will remeasure the voltages again.

      Hi budm

I have replaced the components mentioned earlier (rm802,cm802 and f9222l) and still have the same problem. The DCV between the two legs of the main capacitor fluctuates between 385 to 342 V. This voltage should be stable right?.

Any things else I can try.

      Thanks

Re: Samsung LN2353H - Bad Power Supply BN44-00158A

        Hi all,

Still struggling with this TV, just a catch up, I replaced rm802, cm802 and f9222l as the TV was not coming off standby. I remeasured the voltages as shown below:

        24V- 0v to 32v
        Bl-0v
ADM fluctuating between 0.04 to 6v
PWM- fluctuating between 0.04v to 10.4v
        5.2- 5.24v
        9v- fluctuating from 0.9 to 16v
Between capacitor cp812- fluctuating between 153v to 240vdc
        Rm801 - fluctuating between 153v to 240vdc

I have checked all the diodes out of circuit and they all look ok. The capacitors are all within their ESR and values.
I have also tried to follow the schematic. I have my 249vAC (AC input pin 3) however when the BD801S (pin 4connector) I noticed the 246v goes in but the ground (- ) is 139vAc ?? Is that right? The positive (+) of the bd801s fluctuating between 136 to 137vAC and the other AC pin 2, is 0.27vac.

        The QP801S pin 1 fluctuating between 137v to 163vac ( 121 to 155dc). I don't understand this part??

Can anyone advise what to do next, I just want to learn what shall I do next thanks

Re: Samsung LN2353H - Bad Power Supply BN44-00158A

OK, when you make the measurement of AC line input to the board, you check between the LINE (HOT/PHASE) and NEUTRAL, do not use chassis GND for the meter when making the AC measurement in the Primary AC.
' I have my 249vAC (AC input pin 3)' Is that the measurement between Line and Neutral, that is kind of high.

'I have my 249vAC (AC input pin 3) however when the BD801S (pin 4connector) I noticed the 246v goes in but the ground (- ) is 139vAc ?? Is that right? The positive (+) of the bd801s fluctuating between 136 to 137vAC and the other AC pin 2, is 0.27vac.' The measurement in the primary DC CIRCUIT you use the Negative leg of the main filter cap for the meter GND ref point.
The only time you use the Chassis GND as the GND ref is when you make measurement in the Cold side of the circuit.

did you jumper the ps_on too 5vstby and jumper bl_on to its stby voltage?

last time i fixed one of these,rm801 was faulty, and the long ic with lots of pins on it was gone.on the back of that ic,is it me or is there a hole in the back of it?
            also check cm602 aswell.

also, disconnect the lvds cable to the tcon, known these to go faulty and cause this problem

hi there i know this is old but i have the same issue you said you repaired RM801 resistor was blown !! so i replaced it thinking it just failed as there is no other visual damage to the board components anyways i replaced it hooked the board back up to tv powered it up and boom it blew open again and also blew fuse in power lead any idea where to go from hear as im new to this thanks for your time guys

If RM801 blew, then ICM801S is defective, there is a schematic on the internet

You can try checking the internal mosfets in the ic, their D - S pins are 23, 19, 4, pin 19 is common to both internal mosfets. The rm801 acts like the fuse for the ic, if the ic shorts, the fuse resistor opens.
I have read that the F9223L is a replacement if you can't find a F9222L

                      Do you mean 0.22 Ohms, not 0.22K because 0.22K = 220 Ohms?

The diagram has a (K) but in this case it means Tolerance Code of 10%. The value should be 0.22 ohm 1 watt. I would'nt be concerned about using a regular resistor, or maybe use a flame proof if you can

the resistors i purchase on ebay listing says 0.22 ohm 1w carbon resistor ( OR22 resistors ) are they correct ?? colour code is red red silver gold ?

well i have finally replaced F9222L and surprise no more resistor blowing lol but im not happy now as it hasn't fixed my issue... i have red light on tv but when i try to press power or any other touch button they do not respond so i figure i would use the ir blaster on my phone and when i power on the light goes out but tv is not on but thered tv responds when i press buttons on my phone just nothing happens so i decided to start measuring voltages from the connectors and think the only voltage reading i got from 1 put was 5v stand by got no other measurements any idea where to go from hear thanks

So the only pin you get voltage on os CN802. pin3 ?? If the main board is working you should get a change on CN802 pin1 (power on/off) If you don't get this voltage (around 3-5 volts) try testing just the power supply board.
Un plug tv, disconnect CN802 from the main board, use about a 1k resistor between pin3 (stby) and pin1 (power on/off)
Plug in tv and see if any of the other voltages come on (ie +12).

New poster here but my first visit to this forum was long ago.
I have one of these boards; TV has no power whatsoever. CM 802 checks at .0176 uF, RM 801 is good at .2 ohms. I also checked CP 812 (the really big cap) and it checks at 82 uF but when I pulled it out the bottom has either a leak around the + terminal or heat melted the plastic. Not sure I could post a picture yet but it smells a little burnt and was sort of stuck to the board. Replace it anyway even if the value is OK?
