    SKytec smwa15-18-3

    Hey guys,

I got asked if I could repair this Skytec's subwoofer circuit.

It had one of the big caps dead so it got replaced, it was blowing the fuses so i replaced the IC TDA7294V cause it had a black (burnt) leg and didn't blow anymore.. yet, the marked trace started smoking.

Yes, the board already looked that terrible when it got to my hands..
And I apologize for the bad soldering on the IC.. I didn't notice it was that bad till I took these pictures.. :x

But still, any idea on why it is burning the track after I give it power?
Does any one have any sort of schematics and parts list?

And what's the value of that blue resistor on the front side of the board?

Would love to replace the whole PCB as it does look like crap to me but got to figure how to draw one and where to send it to be printed first..

    Thank you for your help.

Clean any carbon that may have been formed between the adjacent traces. You may have to scrape heavily. Look at the components connected to the burning trace. They may be 'leaky' and if you are doubtful replace them. the Blue resistor looks like 470 ohms.

      Thanks Andrew F. Ali

      Won't scraping it remove masking?
And any idea in why did they added solder over the traces? Am guessing cause it was getting too hot from the current..
