Peugeot 407 multi function display fade problem

I'm going to attempt a repair on my Dad's peugeot 407 multi function display.
(He already has a replacement but it's from a different model so some features are missing).
It's a common fault for the display to fade after driving for so long.
He said he heard it can be fixed by re soldering.

The manufacturers code on the back is 9657882780.

Does any one here know how to fix this or have a link to a repair guide/video etc.?

I haven't opened it yet.
I'll take some good pics of the circuit board etc tomorrow.

I've attached a half size image showing the whole unit from the top, a full size crop of the board from the top and a full size image of the under side.

Let me know if these are good enough, I could try a different lens if not.
