Re: Vizio 42" Plasma - Bad Caps in Y and Z Sus

I have a Daewoo DP-42sm with the same ysus and same buldging Samwha 680uF caps.

But with this TV, the owner is claiming it will randomly shut down.

I removed the 680uF, and gave them a closer look. The cap it's self is not budged, just the plastic disc that covers the top. I'm starting to wonder if they just come that way from the factory, or if the cap is seeing high temps to distort the plastic cover.
I only have a 12 volt power supply handy, but the bulding cap holds 12 volts just fine for a long time with power removed. So I know it's not internally shorted, or having an abnormal low internal resistance.

Any one have any exsperiance with these TV's powering them selfs down? The caps on the power supply look OK, but have'nt tested them yet.
