It will be something similar to TNY266. As long as you match the pin out, you should be able to substitute for any TNY26x chip -- it looks like that part just manages the standby power, so as long as you get a 5W max capable part it should be fine.

Sorry for Bringing up an old post.
hijodalgo, I was wondering if you ever got your power supply working?
      What part did you replace?
was there any thing else that was damaged as well?
I had gotten this same issue where the IC had Blown apart.
I did replace with a TNY266 chip I had on hand, but it is higher than 5w. I think 15W.
after replacement power supply is still not turning on the set.
      Should I order a tny264 for the 5w ?
What testing point should i look at to narrow down the issue?

Re: IC Number on DPS-286 AP/RDENCA336WJQZ Sharp power board

I ordered exactly TNY264PN with same brand (power integration) from Singapore.

I have no confident to solder the IC onto the board due to poor skill may cause overheat to the IC.

So I ordered a DIP8 socket and soldered the socket. Eventually plugged the IC in.

But still no power after put new TNY264 in.

The new power board costs approx USD 85. But I'm worrying that this blown IC has also damage T-CON, mainboard, or even a inverter.

My LCD TV is LC42A77M, power board DPS-226AP-1 (RDENCA340WJQZ). This IC blowed when I switched on the wall socket.

Please also see the original cracked IC TNY264.

Hope I can get some advices.

That SMPS IC is for the standby power supply only. Check the snubber diode D7908, 7909.
The fusible resistor feed the B+ to this IC, so if the resistor is open, you will not have the B+ to run this IC.
If you trace out the connection between the D pin of the IC and one of the leg of the fusible resistor, it will show low ohm.

            Hi,
Followed by the replacement of 2.2 ohm fusible resistor, the LCD TV powers up nicely now.
            Thanks everyone help.

Great job and thanks for the follow-up.
BTW, can you provide the straight shot pictures of the bottom side and the top side of the board for future reference in case I have to trace out the circuit, thanks.

Hi RDENCA342WJQZ DPS-286AP-1 Power board broken chip IC7905 I have pictures from the underside if you want budm. I also replaced the IC with a TNY264PN but still no power light showing I checked the diodes D7908, D7909 in position & they seem to work OK multimeter shows current one way & the R7914 2.2 Ohm resister measures at 2.8 to 2.9 Ohms would appreciate if someone could help with what I should check, Thanks

So you still do not have 5VSTBY from the board, right? What DC voltage do you get at the main filter cap C7820 (measure right at the two legs of the cap). You can test the board by itself with nothing else attached except the power cord.

Hi the C7820 cap measured at 340v

I rechecked the R7914 2.2 Ohm resister again just after I disconnected the power & it showed around 4 ohms one way & nothing the other I left it for a approx 1/2 hour & it was back to 3.5 one way & 2.4 ohm the other way just wondering if I should take it off the board & check it

or is there something else to look at Thanks again

Take that resistor off the board. Testing component off the board is always the best way to do static test the component.

will there be variations across the source pins?

There was also a peculiar thing when i was testing. At one point, if i ma not wrong, D and ENUV measured about 400V. I heard a sound and was slighlty startled. The screen came on when i put the meter between D and ENUV.... only happened that one time..
