    PU14
Pin 18 is open in respect to ground.
Shorted Pin 9 to pin 19

Tested voltages on PU2 with adapter plugged back in
    Pin 4 - Measured 168.2 mV
    Pin 6 - Measured 19.29V
    Pin 7 - Measured 75 mV
    Pin 14 - Measured 165.7 mV
    Pin 27 - Measured 166.3 mV

I think you meant PIN 9 to PIN 18
The 3.3V from PU2 pin 5 (5mA from datasheet if i remember correctly) might not output enough current for 3.3V ALW. But it is hard to say anything else. If you have a lab powersupply then try to insert 3.3V to pin 19 track and see how much current is drawn. Visual inspection under microscope to find any missing connections if water damage was present.

Correct, Pin 9 to pin 18 on PU14.

I do not have a lab power supply, but I do have some spare ATX. I'll use the 3.3V bus from that and report results.

You can't control current with atx psu, so be careful...

Applied +3.3v and ground from an external 3.3v source. Verified source was putting 3.3V.

            PJP50 (+3.3V_ALW) is now 3.27V
            PJP48 (+5V_ALW) is now 2.74V
            PJP49 (+15V_ALW) is now 1.81V

            PU2 pins
            Pin 4 - Measured 0.263V
            Pin 7 - Measured 1.678V
            Pin 14 - Measured 0.263V
            Pin 27 - Measured 0.263V

Guess that some things must remain a mystery.

Hi guys, I hope it is OK to hijack this thread.

I saved an E6320 from the scrap heap, Story it was -put in a docking station, and killed the laptop (We know if was a docking station as someone managed to kill 2 other laptops the same way).

Anyways the battery wont charge pretty much the same as the title. I did narrow down to a SMSC MEC 5055 LZY chip getting very hot when plugged into the mains, Also there is a scorch mark and even melted a bit plastic from a wire onto it.

Now basically could this still be a short or is it pretty much that chip is cooked?

There is 2 MEC 5055 chips next to each other, its the left side one that seems fryed.
