That wasn't paranoia that's just common sense.
I probably worry more about having my identity stolen or my accounts cleaned out than many do, simply because I've seen it happen around me.
From the guy that had $4500 sucked out of his checking account from using a debit card on a bogus website, to landlords daughter that is fighting identity theft right now trying to get it cleaned up.
To someone else that asked me, "Do you think I have a virus" when he saw folders opening and closing on his desktop. Yes he was infected and yes they stole his identity.
