    LG 50PQ30C-UA clicking noise

hey i was needing the powerboard for this tv. its making a clicking nosie as soon as you plug it up. coming from power supply. if i unplug the main board its stops. but everything else is plugged up. power board bad or main board?

As soon as you plug plasma tv up its start clicking. The noise is coming from the power supply. I uplug the Y-sus and Z-sus and plug it up and it still clicked.

Then i plug everything back up and then unplug the main board and it didn't click. Also all the caps look good on the board by visual only.

Any ideas. Picture belows shows component that is clicking.

If the PSU is clicking it means the relays are working to turn on the TV and then turning off. Your PSU is good. I think your problem is the Y-sus Bd., though.
    Test your PSU:
    1. Take two 120vac light bulbs and connect them in series, end to end, as in a daisy chain, to make attest lamp.
    2. Disconnect the P 511 or 811 connector. (I can't see it too well)
    3. Connect your test lamp across and pin marked Vs and GND.
    4. Plug TV into the wall ac.
    5. The test lamp should lit bright and remain lit. Means PSU good.
    6. Verify Va, M5, 12V and etc voltages.

        Test 1 with the SMPS:
        1. unplugged the P813 connector. Jump pin 24 to grd.
        2. unplugged P811 connector to take load off.
        3. Voltage present on P813 connector:

        Pin 23- 5v
        pin 11- 5v
        nothing else present.
        4. this fuse in the picture below had around 110v

        Test 2.
        1. plugged everything back up. plugged up 110vac.
        2. SMPS will click 14 times then quit clicking.
        3. voltage is the same on pins at connector P813.
        4. the fuse in the picture will go up to 350 then back down to 110v.

        Test 3.
        1. Unplugged P811 and plugged two 60 watt bulbs in series on pins vs and gnd.
        2. Unplugged P813. jump pin 24 to gnd. Plugged up 110vac.
        3. voltage on connector p813 stayed the same except pin 22. it has 5v now.
        4. SMPS also made one clicking noise after about 10 to 15 sec.
        5. The fuse still has around 110v.

Have to get some 100 watt bulb to test again. But it should have all the voltage present on the pins at connection P813 with Pin 24 jump to gnd. (This is what diagram is stating right).

          Re: LG 50PQ30C-UA clicking noise

If the test I suggested was followed to the letter, and Va, M5, 12V and etc voltages are not present neither did the test bulbs light up then the PSU is bad. Using 60Watt bulbs instead of 100Wall bulbs will not alter the results much.

That's what I thought to. Figured I would get a second opinion on the matter, just to make sure.

The 60 watt wouldn't light up or nothing.

But without hooking the bulbs up and jumper 24 pin out. The no load voltage should be present on the PSU at connector P813 right. Or does the bulbs has to be hook up to get voltage on pins. This is just for future reference.

              Re: LG 50PQ30C-UA clicking noise

Some PSUs shutdown and go into protection mode with no load. It is always advisable to test these PSUs with a load since you may get voltage but the Current may not be sustainable. Therefore, to fully test PLASMA PSUs it is advisable to use the test lamp load.
