    Intel D865GLG

It's not been a terrible board. I stuck a 3 gHz Hyperthreader in and it keeps up. Not a great board, not terrible either.

    (5) HN(M) 820 μF, 6.3V caps are blown

Can these be replaced by polymers?
Do they all serve a similar purpose?
    Am I stuck with 1000 μF, 6.3 V, HMs?

    Thanks,
    Gary

Those pictures are useless and what's the screen shot about? Use the advanced and attachment choices to show pictures here please.

"Can these be replaced by polymers?"
    Probably but why?

"Do they all serve a similar purpose?"
    Yes.

    "Am I stuck with 1000 μF, 6.3 V, HMs?"
No. But increasing the capacitance from 820uf to 1000uf will probably work fine.

      Thanks Steve,
Yeah. I can't seem to just insert a picture. I'm working on it. Flickr was probably a bad choice. I should have just gave em a page on my web site. I'm just gonna order the HMs and see if I can actually save this box.

the HMs should be fine. i have the asus 875p version of these p4 boards and its been working fine with 2009 nichicon HMs and sanyo/suncon WGs.

knowing intel when they built their boards, they probably overspecced it and decided to use much lower esr HNs to make their boards bulletproof and last a long time.

what year datecodes are those blown HNs? could be from the 2002-2004 HM HN screwup, thats why they failed. or u better check your case ventilation or psu to make sure its not a cap killer!
