    Intel SBT2 Mobo

    Don't have a bad lytic per se on this board - there are so few of them
    and these are all Blue UCC LXZ 16V 120uF.

    This is a server board.

    The problem is with a little chip cap that has came off the mobo
    The chip cap was found with the mobo as rec'd - so....
    It may have came off in transit - dunno or more likely, down to
    bad handling - aw well...

    Anyway, this chip cap is;
    1. Orange coloured and is
    2. Polarised
    3. Has marking on the top as with - 226 C M232D
    4. Size is L - 6mm H - 2/2.5mm W - 3mm
    5. One of the legs is missing

    I have physically inspected the board and found where, formerly this
    cap resided (near the button cell). No other problems with this mobo
    are apparent.

    Q - Are these AVX Niobium as with;

    Please advise as to how to interpret values and ratings

    Thanks

    A picture would help. Have you checked that it is a cap and not a diode(usually black anyhow)? Niobium is a good guess. Sorry the numbers are odd. Hope somebody has a clue.

      Re: Intel SBT2 Mobo

      Looking at the Niobium data sheet coding the cap is very likely a 22uFd however the code following the M would represent 230Volt rating from this coding reference and that does not look right. If possible power up the motherboard and measure the operating voltage where the cap would normally fit. Otherwise return the mobo to supplier under warranty if you can.

        Re: Intel SBT2 Mobo

        Yep - agreed

        I have looked through the AVX catalogue with a view to determining what
        spec this device is and concur;

        It is a C it terms of case size and
        It is a 22uF cap = 22pf mult 10 to the power 6
        It is an M in terms of tolerance +/-20%

        The 232D does not make any sense at all

        I will try to post a pic

          the C is 16v
          anything that doesnt make sense is usually date code / lot number and it is
