Re: Sharp LC-60LE633U Panel Board and Tcon problems

So I got back to this TV after some parts came in. I fixed the Tcon where I no longer have the green lines, but the same 1/4 of the panel still does not work. I looked at one of the driver ribbon...

Re: Sharp LC-60LE633U Panel Board and Tcon problems

I think it is a little of both. It was digitally zoomed so there is some weird artifacting, but I think what you are seeing is the aftermath of my probe tips checking for shorts. There were no...

Re: Sharp LC-60LE633U Panel Board and Tcon problems

I verified on both sides (the blown cap side and the good cap side) that one end was connected to ground (you can see the fatter copper trace side in both pictures). Then with the black lead on...

Re: Sharp LC-60LE633U Panel Board and Tcon problems

Understood on the "lcd to lcd" cable. I was referring to the interconnection cables between the bottom connection boards. I didn't mean to sound defensive if that's how it came across.

If I...

Re: Sharp LC-60LE633U Panel Board and Tcon problems

It is a capacitor. Looking on the other side is not an exact mirror image, but when I took it off it certainly looks like a capacitor. It has a gray body, not a black or darker color body like a...

Sharp LC-60LE633U Panel Board and Tcon problems

I have a Sharp LC-60LE633U that I picked up that has some damage to the Tcon board (Q6215 burnt), the flexible cables going to certain parts of the LCD, and a burnt capacitor on the LCD board that...

Re: Help Identifying Capacitor Brands

There are plenty of 85 degree caps that are more than general purpose, which is why I was trying to find specific info on these two caps.

Thanks. The TCI marked one is not as important to me...

Help Identifying Capacitor Brands

Can anyone identify the manufacturer or model of the two following capacitors? Google did not help me much in my quick search. I can't seem to find any information on them. These are out of an older...

Re: Vizio P502UI-B1E has no backlight, no voltage from driver board to LED's

Looks to be a MMBT3904. Fairly common if you have spare parts or spare boards. I think I checked that particular transistor on my board with a multimeter and it was OK. I'm not sure what the...

Re: Vizio P502UI-B1E has no backlight, no voltage from driver board to LED's

So the ebay board changed the issue, but did not solve it?

Re: Vizio P502UI-B1E has no backlight, no voltage from driver board to LED's

If U712 is a tps54328, pin 2 is the feedback. It should be at ~0.76V during normal operation according to the datasheet. I don't think that one is the issue. if the output voltage on that...

Re: Vizio P502UI-B1E has no backlight, no voltage from driver board to LED's

I did one quick check that if I apply +5V from an external supply to the LED driver board on the gray wire, the 4 converters do show +12V at L801-L804. The LED did not light up yet though. So far I...

Re: Vizio P502UI-B1E has no backlight, no voltage from driver board to LED's

Just a follow up to this. I took a couple thermal shots of the main board with the heat sink removed. Everything to me in this post is pointing to the main board, so I figured I would try to reflow...

Re: Vizio P502UI-B1E has no backlight, no voltage from driver board to LED's

I'm going to chime in here that I have the same TV with identical symptoms to triplefour. My backlights do not try to fire at all like al1415. I have tried replacing the EEPROM with no luck.

Re: SEM3330, S3330 SMPS IC from Samsung BN44-00697A

I eventually figured enough was enough on this one and just found a complete replacement board for $25. The TV still does not work, but I think I will open a new thread as the title of this thread...

Re: SEM3330, S3330 SMPS IC from Samsung BN44-00697A

Well that experiment I think we can call failed (or something else was wrong). Got the chips the other day and installed one. Being in haste probably caused me more damage though. I happen to...

Re: Samsung UN55B6000 Relay Clicking

IC1201 is the EEPROM for the DVI or VGA. I had that out of the board for awhile and the TV would still turn on. I did need to replace it because it was shorted, but the TV would still mostly...

LG Main Board Cross Compatibility

I have an LG 55LS4500 TV that has a shorted out main SoC on the main board. It was hit by some sort of power surge. It isn't practical for me to replace just the main IC which controls almost every...

Re: Samsung UN55B6000 Relay Clicking

I replaced IC1201 with a new EEPROM 24C02. I also replaced the two TVS arrays on the HDMI1 port. Those TVS arrays are tiny and painful to solder :) Everything works well now.

Re: Samsung UN55B6000 Relay Clicking

I put in the new HDMI chip. Unfortunately the supplier gave me a SIL9287A, not SIL9287B. I don't know if that's an issue or not, but the TV still doesn't work. There is still no longer a dead...

Re: Samsung UN55B6000 Relay Clicking

I got one from a US supplier and a 5pc from china. One will show up soon and the 5 in a few weeks I suppose. I'll try my hand at QFN soldering soon.

Re: Samsung UN55B6000 Relay Clicking

So I found out what the issue was. IC210 (3.3V regulator) pin 1 output was being shorted to ground. The fact IC1102 got so hot just seems to be a byproduct of this. The component that was actually...

Re: Samsung UN55B6000 Relay Clicking

I tried that. Looking at the datasheet for the power pins, there is no way to measure on pin. The pin pitch of that part is .01" There is no way I have a probe that fine to directly measure. All...
