I guess it looks like an oscillator, but it is smaller than ordinary oscillators used in laptop mainboards.

it is impossible to identify it in this photo. I guess there is a tiny marking on the IC that requires a microscope to take a high-resolution photo. or find a broken donor mainboard to replace the IC...

Going further without schematics takes a lot of time and work. It usually leads to an incomplete repair.

I searched the net and it seems the schematics is not available freely. only a pay-site shows a Block diagram of this laptop.
I hope someone has it and uploads it here.

Laptops does not suite hard gaming. now, this laptop has got a defective graphics chip and you have to disassemble this laptop at least twice a year. I do not know why costumers do not use gaming...

the CPU model is: Intel Dual-core B960 (sandy bridge)
there is no schematics available for this mainboard.
ISL95831 does not get hot and seems to work fine.

is it possible that the CPU is faulty...

Sometimes it is possible that some tiny IC gets hot which we do not consider. In addition, check KBC for being warm too.

there is no straight-forward way to search it. you can write a simple C++ program that searches the bin file to find a few '-' that have occurred near each other.
