Re: Help with dead Commodore 1802

WV= Working Voltage. Thats how they some were marked in the past. it just means Voltage rating of the cap.

Re: Help with dead Commodore 1802

That main cap. being open would cause the problem. I had a power smps recently that had a near open main filter and it would blow the main fuse even though everything else (fet etc.) checked ok. All...

Re: PROSCAN PLDED3280A-D 1607 no standby/power

The best I can come up with is that the Number is AYNxxx where xxx seems to be a date code and is different between ic's
A common problem on this board is the eeprom, Are you sure the fet and ic are...

Re: Seiki SE39UY04 won't turn on - there's a scorch on the power board. Do I resolder

It is likely the connection did not get enough solder when they manufactured it, the transformer does vibrate and also the board heats and cools flexing the joint untill it failed and due to the...

Re: Seiki SE39UY04 won't turn on - there's a scorch on the power board. Do I resolder

It just needs to be resoldered, You should also resolder all the transformer connections on that board, and any other connections that use those rivets around the pins. No need for tin foil

Re: Tagan 700W ATX PSU faulty - no 5V STBY. TG700-U25

If the primary for the standby circuit is open, check that resistor in the heatshrink, Also under that diode (next to the diode marked D2), it looks like the circuit trace is blown, or it could just...

Re: Tagan 700W ATX PSU faulty - no 5V STBY. TG700-U25

There seems to be a bad electrolytic near the small standby transformer, It looks bulged in the picture (pic#1). How close is the corrosion (pic#5) to the cap? it could be that the cap leaked but the...

Re: BenQ BL2400PT no backlight

I doubt your problem is with the power supply, check the voltage on the led driver board.
I suspect you have a problem with the led's themselves, Check the voltage going to the led's when you first...

Re: How ca I use an SPDT 5V relay to reverse NC switch in 3.5mm jack?

This may not apply here. I am only suggesting this:
In the past I have used a PJ-307 jack, this jack uses a seperate switch that is not connected to the audio signal, it is available with either a...

Re: Samsung UN40H5201AF TV Backlight Stays on if Power Supply Isn't Grounded

I suspect that you have one of the led's connection on the strip or it's wire lead shorting to metal panel ground, when you have the power supply isolated from ground the backlights would then stay...

Re: Why does my Uni-T multimeter not measure anything?

Yes, that trace is gone, so get a thin piece of wire and solder it between the COM and the wire shunt. Using a thin piece of wire would be better in case the mistake is made again. I suspect the...

Re: Delta DPS-250AP-62 Schematics?

A picture of the bottom of the board would help to see where the resistor is connected. That resistor could also be in the VCC supply for the pfc ic. Check if it connects to Q901
The resistor has...

Re: Help for identify componenti on Samsung Power supply

Post good, clear, straight on, in focus pictures of the board (and the area of the damage) and maybe we can figure out the problem.

Re: Delta DPS-250AP-62 Schematics?

It would be nice to know where that resistor connects, It could be from the feedback/run diode going to pin2
Maybe there is another band, IE: brown, black, gold, gold (1Ω)

Re: Why does my Uni-T multimeter not measure anything?

The blown trace could also be on the other side of the board, it is a double side circuit board.

Re: Why does my Uni-T multimeter not measure anything?

If the trace blew it would likely be in this area. Is this where the black smoke is? clean any black soot from the board and provide a clear picture of this area. The COM jack likely connects to the...

Re: Why does my Uni-T multimeter not measure anything?

NO. you should LOOK to see if there IS a blown trace. don't start adding jumper wires.
Have you tried placing the meter in Ω and check what resistance you get when you short the probes together?...

Re: Why does my Uni-T multimeter not measure anything?

What makes you think there is a "short circuit" in the meter? Your video shows the meter working. When turned to 20MΩ it reads O.L that is normal, When turend to DCVoltage it reads 0.00 Volts which...

Re: Samsung UN46ES6100 / no backlight

In this panel the screen is edge lit. It could be a simple as a bad connection or likely one of the led's is open.

Re: Samsung UN46ES6100 / no backlight

If you look at the bottom of the board you will see your answer.
pins 2,3 (R+) are the supply voltage for the led string, pins 5,7 are connected together, only to join the two led strings. pins 9,10...

Re: Philips 55PUT6201/12 no backlight

Check if you are getting any secondary voltage across either C8116 or C8117. Check for this voltage when the tv is first turned on, if there is a fault with the backlights this voltage will likely...

Re: Help for identify componenti on Samsung Power supply

The board is single layer, no via's. They don't seem to be part of the circuit, so maybe they are used during the manufacturing of the board.

Re: Samsung UN55JU6700FXZA (TH01) / BN44-00807A Power Board

They look like they could be 39k, you may need to disconnect one end of one of the resistors to get a accurate reading as they connect to the supply voltage from CM862/863

Try disconnecting CNM803...
