Re: Sharp LC-80LE757U - Click - shuts off

With the power supply unplugged, you can try to isolate the offending opto by cutting out a small piece of metal from an aluminum soda can. Place the metal over an opto and hold one end with your...

Re: Samsung un60eh6050 back-light working, but no picture or sound

I believe for this t-con, it's the ISL9860 chip. But that's for a TV with sound and no video. However, since you're also getting no sound, I would think it's something beyond the t-con.

Re: What type of fuse is this?

This psu is hard to come by and can cost upwards of $200. Some offer a repair service that generally costs over $50.

Re: HP LaserJet P2035 cart?

I believe this cartridge also contains a reset chip. Once that chip is triggered, it will continue to show empty even if you've refilled the cartridge. Replacement chips can be purchased through...

Re: Sansui 37" LCD TV Model SV-3715TLCD Standby voltage tripping

I suggest you first try replacing the startup cap on pin 5. It's probably something small like 22-47uf. From your schematic, it appears to be the cap to the left of zener diode Z4.

Re: Samsung tv capacitor identification

It's usually a good thing, since a new revision incorporates design changes that were causing problems with the previous version.

Re: Samsung tv capacitor identification

According to shopjimmy.com, it appears you have the correct power supply, but their photo also shows the capacitor in question.

It would be helpful if you posted a photo of the new power supply along with it's model number BN44....

Re: What type of fuse is this?

From budm's photo in post #58, the gate driver is the black surface mount ic between the the two mosfets you checked. It's ICP801. I suggest you go ahead and replace it.

It could be the lighting, but VX801S looks like it's split open.

Re: What type of fuse is this?

That kit only applies if QS802C and QS804C are shorted.

Possibly something under that metal cage at the AC inlet is shorted. Maybe a varistor?

Re: Samsung LN46C630K1F

I'm thinking that pin 17 should read the same as pin 15. You may have pins 17 and 18 mixed up?

Re: Vizio P-Series 4K tv with temporary sound and no picture P652ui-B2

It's probably unrealistic to try and determine the size of something just by looking at a photo. Unless you're willing to open up the set and measure the size of the cap, then you might want to just...

Re: Vizio E470VL Orange Light Only After F1 Replacement

Appears something is wrong with U3. There's no voltage output, which is why you see nothing at U4. I believe U3 is an adjustable voltage reg, where the output is controlled by two external resistors....

Re: Sharp 70" First Failure Post Side-Tab Removal ?

$500 and 8-hour round trip? Are they planning to work on it while you wait? Not worth it for a TV over 3 years old. Strip the boards and sell them and apply that money towards a new TV.

Re: Protecting a horizontal output transistor

My guess would be the fake devices are using a smaller die than the originals and cannot handle the higher current. Is the genuine transistor slightly heavier than the fake? You could also open them...
