Re: iMac 2008 (A1224) PSU Dead Primary (good fuses)

Entirely possible but I got no schematics and cannot find any schematics either so I got no idea where to investigate next.

iMac 2008 (A1224) PSU Dead Primary (good fuses)

JFC macs are not as reliable as I remember them. I bought my parents a used 2008 model last summer and it lasted four months before the video card packed in, so that was core exchanged for another...

Re: NEC Plasma - Green Light; No Video

Having now written off two or three dozen identical model NEC panels for work, this problem seems to be EXTREMELY common as 95 to 98% or the panels taken out of the field earmarked "defective"...

Re: UPS Wiring

I understand this IS a seven year old thread, but in the end (jesus christ I never throw anything out) I got it running.

Lmao, in reality they were all 12V cells. Each battery tray has 10...

NEC Plasma - Green Light; No Video

About seven months ago I picked up a NEC PX-42VM5A panel from a recycler that had an excellent condition screen still. I immediately put it into use and it was trouble-free for months, then left it...

Re: WhizPro BIOS password

It's a 49LF004A. It's still quite new.
Also, I already dumped it. Poling through a hex editor however has not yet found anything.

Re: WhizPro BIOS password

It was out for two weeks minimum.
Where the board came from initially I regularly see them come with flat CMOS batteries anyways. This could of been missing a backup battery for years.

Re: WhizPro BIOS password

I have a Willem Ver 5.0 unit that can dump the chip but it is being very inconsistent with this chip so far unless my settings are wrong.
I can however dump the chip while it is in the machine. I...

The layout appears to be wildly different unfortunately.

WhizPro BIOS password

I have an OEM board here with the model SL-810 from BCM which again is some weird OEM company who barely supports this.
I say barely because while a page for the motherboard exists...

Re: Subject: 2 Dead Antec PSU's, worth fixing?

That really sounds like one of the MOSFET's are triggering the crowbar circuit.
Never seen the circuit rset while still plugged in, however.

Re: Home Automation Controller (AKA: a Rebranded Industrial Machine)

I gave it a 4gb Compact Flash card and threw Windows 98 on it. First thing I can say is:

-The multiport card does not have DOS or Windows drivers, or at least if there are they are not that easy...

Re: Home Automation Controller (AKA: a Rebranded Industrial Machine)

The PCI-946 is indeed the same board but with the Adaptec SCSI chip also added. The product datasheet also confirms that the connectors I'm seeking are on the board somewhere but again, nobody has...

Re: How do you remove smd electrolytic caps?

Going against the cardinal sin, I use pliers to twist the cap off the PCB.

I don't know WHY it works so well and why it doesn't rip pads every time but I've found it more effective that dealing...

Home Automation Controller (AKA: a Rebranded Industrial Machine)

This was found at a used construction supply and demolition salvage center last time I was in Vancouver. They labelled it a "Home Automation Computer" and they said it and a bunch of other stuff was...

Re: ECU's, interfaces and baud rates

It's a problem that's literally been with the car as long as I owned it. Almost all the sensors have been replaced and the rest have been tested good. Fuel and vacuum lines have been changed, the...

Re: ECU's, interfaces and baud rates

That test was done in the fall of 2010. As of 2017 that engine has 430000km on the odo.
I would not be surprised it the cat is bad but the assumption was that something upstream was running the...

Re: ECU's, interfaces and baud rates

The main grounds were cleaned when I had the transmission serviced. Again when I was working on the alternator charging harness.
My hydrocarbons have always been really, really high along with NOX....

Re: ECU's, interfaces and baud rates

The ECU. That's it.
The computer in the Tracker/Sidekick is of a stupid simple design, as in Suzuki gave you the bare minimum needed to make a TBI engine work. It's also non-programmable and doesn't...

Re: ECU's, interfaces and baud rates

The software is called RhinoView. This is version 0.8. Slightly buggy but it works.

In the versions since, the developer has removed support for serial interfaces and firmware locked to his own...

Re: ECU's, interfaces and baud rates

BuMP for closure.

I finally dug up a USB to serial dongle that uses an FTDI FD232BL chipset. This is in the same family as the chip used in the official RhinoPower USB adapter so once the drivers...

Re: HP Power Supply help

I got it.

U1 and U2 are a pair (I assume they are spec matched, so I can't mix them for testing) of OP-Amps. One of them is bad because when I move the set between the boards the fault moves with...

Re: HP Power Supply help

All components (aside from resistors, which all read good in-circuit and YES, that includes those tants) using P5R on the Low Voltage board have now been swapped between boards with no movement in...
