Maybe... but it will certainly indicate if the capacitor is bad when no charge is held won't it? I'm not advocating it as the be all and end all of capacitor testing.

Just a quick update, PSU and s754 system still running without issue well after industry dictated obsolescence... it's been 8 years since the initial recap with Samxon Capacitors was carried out....

It all depends on the particular piece of hardware and the value you place on it... personally although Antec's True-power & True-blue series PSU's only achieved 75% efficiency at best I still recap...
