no, the dropping of the value was just because until recently polymers didnt come in very high values.
now i think the largest is 2700uf - i could be wrong.

maybe because of the humidity or temperature of the enviroment.

even if they did spike them to break on win7 the same way they blocked win98 you could just compile it...

fets are voltage not current driven,
maybe there is a bad resistor somewhere - or the computer is running at the wrong clockspeed - fucking the PWM up.

sounds like ceramic epoxy.
hammering a blade into it is probably your best bet.
or using the blade to scrape it away till you get between the sink and chip - then you can pry it without stressing...

it could be held with thermal epoxy(usually gray), tape or strange pink shit like gum. (thanks foxconn!)

if it's epoxy you will have problems, and the dust contains zinc oxide - so dont breath it....

incidentally, critical monitoring such as water or gas distribution does not use public networks - they use a private radio frequency and commercial transceiver modules - i'm sure you can work out...
