May have gotten a faulty tcon, try gently cleaning and reseating ribbons and lvds cable, could try service menu adjustment. Be careful in service mode, always make note of setting before trying...

What nelic said was logical, could be 2 bad leds, could be a protection circuit shutting it down because of those leds too, I can strip down to leds to get the full picture of what I'm dealing with...

Thanks Mikalcarbine, good example why you shouldn't jump to conclusion of bad panel because it can be hard to tell, can be just the tcon as in your case. :rock::popcorn1:

I agree, the used market is tight, might be better off parting it out, definitely doesn't justify a new board at 170, like you said no meat left on the bone.

See if you have voltage on each side of tcon fuse, negative meter lead on a ground.

Was reading where a sony update made picture dark, wonder if it's just a bad firmware they put out, wonder if you can downgrade the firmware as in go back to the last one you had before update?
